Saturday, April 29th, 2022: Rob Font sustained a difficult decision loss when going up against Marlon Vera. This defeat dropped Font to a 4-2 record in six fights. Font in round 1 caught Vera with a left jab to the nose and followed it up with an uppercut to start some swelling over his eye. Rob Font through one round seemingly did his most damage by landing quick strikes from close range and protected himself well. Rob Font then to kickoff round nunber 2 would land a heavy left hook to an unprotected face of Vera to open up the swelling a little bit more. After that, Font secured Vera's leg kick and pushed him into the cage before landing a mean right hook yet he still couldn't finish him off. Font in round two continuted to land solid strikes by catching Vera in the face with one two combos but his only issue is the fact that he's aiming for a KO instead of being persistent. But come the 3rd round and Rob Font continuted to find open space to Vera's face and it allowed for solid shots to connect. His only issue was that he had his guard down to much and was dazed multiple times by thus point. Unfortunately, things didn't come any easier during the 4th round as he started looking sluggish. By not defending himself  well enough and it led to him being dropped three total times yet he was still landing strikes at a high rate. Ultamately though, Font in closing seconds of round 5 hammered in an uppercut to Vera with a few extra strikes added in. Font in the final round continuted to land solid strikes and combos but more often than not he played defense and moved slow. Font landed 273 total strikes landed, finished 1 of 2 on takedowns and staggered to a 19-6-0 record.

Marlon Vera dominates Rob Font in the later rounds to pick up a much needed decsion Victory, over Rob Font. This win propelled Vers to three wins in a row. Vera midway through the the 1st round spotted an opening to Font's mid section and delivered a hard left leg kick that rattled him just a bit but no further damaged would be done. Due to Font's quick recovery. Vera in one round needed to do a much better job of protecting his face as he exceeded damage and was limited to very few strikes landed at this point in time. Thereafter, Marlon Vera towards the mid-stages of round 2 was starting to get agitated  as he found an open gap to Font's mid section and hammered in a left leg kick while making Font grab his stomach for a brief moment after such a heavy shot. Although, with just 28 seconds left in this round and Vera finally got what he was looking for after landing a lead hook that dazed and dropped Font. But was saved by the bell. Vera finally getting his feet under him in round 2 as he started landing some shots and stayed off the ground when trying to be taken down. However, during round 3 Vera was starting to come alive as he almost the night of Font for good after delivering a massive knee out the clinch and spaghetti legged him into the cage but once again was saved by the bell. Vera absolutely crushed this round after getting his strikes going and dropped Rob Font twice at this point in time. We will now shift to the 4th round of this UFC fight and Marlon Vera would daze and drop Font yet again! After Font let his guard down and delivered a mean side kick to the teeth but had a poor close out once he was in the ground. Vera in the 4th dominated every portion of this round as he was patient enough to wait for shots to open up and at some point landed strike combinations that tired Font out. But in the end, in the 5th and Vera would start to close thus fight out after throwing a combo of punches that quickly followed up with a front leg kick to the chin. Vera in the 5th round remained precise by  staying away from big shots and countered attacked with solid strikes to the head and body of Font while knocking him down 3 total times. Vera secured 167 total strikes landed, 159 significant strikes and improved to a 19-7-1 win/loss record.
