Goalkeeper Eloy Room records a 2 save night with no goals allowed and Lucas tallies a two goal night and an assist dished...thus leading the Columbus Crew past the defending MLS Cup Champions, Seattle Sounders of last year, earning a hard fought 3-0 shutout Victory. With this win it now means the Columbus Crew have hauled in their second MLS Cup Championship in team history. Columbus Crew 25 minutes into the 1st half would see Lucas Zelarayan connect on a left foot kick, to help his team go up 1-0 and scored his first of two goals. Then six minutes later during the 31st minute, Derrick Etienne would boost Columbus's lead to 2-0, following his right foot kick. Columbus Crew closed out the 1st half with 2 unanswered goals to be scored. Lucas Zelarayan would seal Seattle's chances at winning back to back MLS Cup titles...after he drilled in a left foot kick, during the 62nd minute of the 2nd half.

The Seattle Sounders win the Western Conference Finals after earning an impressive 3-2 Victory, over a very tough Minnesota team. The Seattle Sounders for the second consecutive year in a row are heading back to the MLS Cup Finals, to take on the 3rd seeded Columbus Crew on Saturday, December 12th, at 5pm. Seattle was here a year ago when they defeated Toronto FC 3-1....now there heading back with a chance to win back to back MLS Cup titles. It wasn't looking good early on in the matchup, considering the fact that the Sounders were facing a two goal deficit halfway through the 2nd half. Up until the 75th minute where Will Bruin connected on a right foot kick, allowing Seattle to pull within one, 1-2. Then fourteen minutes later during the 89th minute of half number two...Raul Ruidiaz recorded the game tying right foot kick, making this game 2-2. Followed up by Gustav Svensson notching the game winning right foot kick, in order to secure a 3-2 win after rallying back from two goals down, late in the 2nd half. That's not all though...Seattle's goalkeeper Stefan Frei recorded 3 saves while allowing no more than two goals to get past him and fended off 7 total Minnesota shots, despite his slow start through the first two halves of the game.
Goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair allows 3 goals and Minnesota suffers a crushing one goal loss to the defending champions, Seattle Sounders, losing by score of 2-3, during their West Finals matchup. Heartbreaking if you are Minnesota right now...just heartbreaking. Minnesota had the early advantage, as they were up by two goals to none, yet somehow they watched that two goal lead go right down the drain, in later stages of the 2nd half. Despite this stinging loss, Minnesota got off to a quick start, following Emanuel Reynoso notching a left foot kick, in order to give his team a 1-0 lead, during the 29th minute of half number 1. During the 42nd and 45th minute of the 1st half Dayne St. Clair was able to fend off a Raul head-butt and left foot kick shot attempt, in order to keep the game at 1-0, to end the 1st half. Then in the 67th minute of the 2nd half Minnesota would see their lead widen to 2-0, after Bakaye Dibassy connected on a head-butt goal of his own. But that second goal would be the last for Minnesota, due to both the goalkeeper and the defense allowing Seattle to score 3 unanswered goals, and Minnesota fell just one game short of the MLS Cup Finals.
The Columbus Crew knocked off and eliminated the New England Revolution in the Eastern Conference Finals round, earning an impressive 1-0 shutout win. Now the Columbus Crew will be advancing to their 3rd MLS Cup Finals, with their last win coming back in 2008. Columbus Crew will also be looking to capture their second MLS title in team history. Keep in mind though...Columbus Crew was in the MLS Finals just 5 years ago, but were defeated by the Portland Timbers, losing by score of 2-1. Columbus Crew's goalkeeper, Andrew Tarbell tallied a 4 save night and no goals were allowed to get past him, while facing 10 total shots, during win. Columbus would put the dagger in the Revolutions night, following Artur securing a left foot kick in the 59th minute of the 2nd half, eventually winning this game 1-0. Columbus Crew will await the winner of the West Finals, when Seattle Sounders vs Minnesota, which takes place on Monday, December 7th 2020, at 6pm.

Goalkeeper, Dayne St. Clair racked up a 4 save night with no goals allowed and 19 shots faced, during win. Minnesota's offense got off to a pretty solid start, following Kevin Molino recording a right foot kick to put his team up 1-0, during the 27th minute of the 1st half. Then just about 8 minutes later in the 35th minutes of half number 1...Kevin Molino tacked on another right foot kick, scoring his second of the night, allowing Minnesota to now go up 2-0. If you thought Minnesota was done in the 1st half.....then you thought wrong. Minnesota's, Bakaye Dibassy in the 39th minute would utilize a headbutt goal, in order to turn in the teams third and final goal, winning this one 3-0. Minnesota scored three unanswered goals, with two out of those three coming from Kevin Molino.
The Seattle Sounders survived and knocked off FC Dallas to earn a 1-0 shutout Victory, during yesterday's meeting in the Conference Semi's. Yeimar Gomez deserves all the credit in the world..especially since he's not a goalkeeper. FC Dallas's Ryan Hollington was rushing in before he delivered a a pass to Pablo, who had his shot attempt bang off the post, followed by Yeimar Gomez fending off FC Dallas's rebound shot attempt, during the 62nd minute of the 2nd half. This round between the two teams would face a scoreless 1st half. Up until Lodeiro delivered his 6th MLS playoff assist to Shane O'Neill, who racked up a headbutt goal in the 49th minute of the 2nd half, in which Seattle would take the first and only lead of the game. 1-0. The Seattle Sounders earned their fifteenth MLS consecutive win on their home turf. Lodeiro becomes just the first player to tally in a assist in a assist in 6 consecutive MLS playoff games.
Orlando City suffers a heartbreaking two goal loss to the 8th seed New England Revolution, as the final score showed 1-3. Orlando City's Nani had a huge opportunity to even the score up at 2-2 in the 2nd half...unfortunately New England's goalkeeper Matt Turner turned down his right foot kick shot attempt, during a penalty shot. Despite a reeling defeat Orlando City would finally get on the board, following a Junior Urso right foot kick, coming within one goal, 1-2. After that one goal scored it would be pretty much seal their night. Orlando City came into this game as a 4th seed team and ended up getting dealt by an 8th seed team.
As for the New England Revolution they will move on to the East Finals to take on the Columbus Crew, following a 3-1 Victory over a tough Orlando City team. Gustavo Bou was one of the biggest factors to helping New England get to the East Finals. Carles Gil recorded a left foot kick in the 17th minute of the 1st half, in order to take a 1-0 lead. Gustavo Bou then connected on his first of two goals, scoring off a right foot kick, taking a 2-0 lead. If you thought Bou was done with scoring...you thought wrong. Gustavo Bou finalized Orlando City's night, after he tallied in goal number 2 of the day and did it off scoring on another right foot kick, 3-1.
Andrew Tarbell records a shutout night in goal, leading the Columbus Crew to a well earned 2-0 Victory, over a surging Nashville SC squad, which would take extra playing time. First and foremost...give credit to Nashville SC, who were in their inaugural MLS season and made the playoffs. Now the Columbus Crew put a stamp on Nashville SC's shutout streak that lasted 200 or more minutes. Both teams through two halves finished with a 0-0 tie..which would lead to extra time. In the 99th minute of the first overtime you would see Pedro Santos drill a right foot kick, finally breaking the games tie, going up 1-0. Followed by Gyasi Zardes connecting on a right foot kick, extending their lead to 2-0, just four minutes after their first goal. But this matchup wasn't over yet. This game would head into a second extra time period, where Andrew Tarbell sealed the game after fending off Daniel Rios headbutt shot attempt. Columbus Crew will move on and take on the Revolution in the Eastern Conference Finals, with a chance to advance to the MLS Cup of 2020.
Reynoso records a 3 assist night, Molino scores twice, thus helping Minnesota reach a new milestone, following an impressive round 1 3-0 shutout Victory, over a surging Colorado Rapids team, during the MLS postseason. Minnesota's new milestone I just mentioned up above.....officially for the absolute first time ever in team history has won an MLS postseason match, along with being undefeated in their past 9 matches. Minnesota will need to thank their goalkeeper, Dayne St. Claire, who started in his first ever postseason matchup. Dayne St. Claire recorded 6 saves and no goals allowed to get past him, while facing 18 total Colorado shots, during win. Minnesota's Kevin Molino during the 22nd minute of the 1st half connected on a beauty of a left foot kick in order to break the game's 0-0 tie, now taking a 1-0 lead. Then to make matters worse for the Rapids, Robin Lod was responsible for banging in a left foot kick to increase his teams lead by two, 2-0 during the 2nd half. Minnesota would put the nail in Colorado's coffin, following Kevin Molino notching a game sealing right foot kick, scoring his second goal of the night, and improved the teams lead to 3-0. Minnesota will now shift their minds to round 2 of the MLS Postseason, as they prepare to take on Sporting Kansas City.
Goalkeeper Tim Melia comes up big by improving to a 6-0 record when having to face shootout situations and Sporting Kansas City earned a hard fought 3-0 shootout Victory, over San Jose. This was all after each team ended regulation with a 3-3 tie, thus winning in sudden death. Tim Melia ended his night with 5 saves and 3 goals allowed on 17 shots faced, during win. Tim Melia didn't really make a mark until the shootout had started. Melia fended off all three of the Earthquakes shot attempts to subsequently secure this win for his team. Now let's get down to this crazy game break. Roger Espinoza made some noise early in round 1 of the MLS postseason, following his headbutt goal in the 6th minute of the 1st half, taking a fast 1-0 lead. Then 47 minutes later into the 2nd half Sporting Kansas City would see IIie Sanchez utilize a body shot goal to tie the game up at 2-2. Sporting Kansas City would follow up their last score with a Gianluca Busio right foot kick to give his team a 3-2 lead, during the 90th minute of the 2nd half. During the shootout period of this round 1 meeting of the MLS playoffs...Khiry Shelton, Johnny Russell and IIie Sanchez each tallied all three of Sporting KC's shootout goals, thus leading them to the next round. Where they will take on a 4th seed Minnesota team.
The San Jose Earthquakes suffer a reeling and upsetting first round MLS postseason elimination, losing by score of 3-0, during the shootout period against a tough Sporting KC opponent. Chris Wondolowski came into this round 1 playoff meeting with 166 goals to his name during the 2020 MLS season. In the 22nd minute of the 1st half Carlos Fierro was responsible for scoring the teams first goal, after utilizing a left foot kick, tying the game up at 1-1. Then just 12 minutes later, during the 34th minute you would see Shea Salinas connect on a right foot kick, giving San Jose a 2-1 lead and even scored on back to back goals to cap off the 1st half. As time was beginning to expire in the 2nd half, somehow Chris Wondolowski was able to tally in a headbutt goal, scoring just his 2nd MLS postseason goal and was responsible for constraining this round 1 matchup to go into sudden death. Unfortunately for San Jose they would fall short in sudden death, thus being tossed from playoff action.
The Columbus Crew advance to the next round of the MLS Playoffs after handling the New York Red Bulls, as the final score showed a 3-2 Victory. Columbus Crew's goalkeeper, Eloy Room played light's out in yesterday's epic postseason matchup in round 1, as he turned in 2 saves and 2 goals allowed on 14 faced shots, during win. Columbus did manage to give up a goal midway through the 1st half, but they would quickly respond with a Pedro Santos left foot kick in the 26th minute of the 1st half, tyi the game at 1-1. This goal by Pedro was set up on a New York Red Bulls Penalty. Things from there would get worse for New York, but not for the Columbus Crew....after Darlington Nagbe connected on a right foot kick to give his team a 2-1 lead. Followed by Gyasi Zardes utilizing what was an eventual game winning headbutt goal, now going up by two, 3-1. The Columbus Crew will be awaiting the winner between Toronto FC vs Nashville SC.
As for the New York Red Bulls they were dealt a difficult 2-3 loss against a tough Columbus Crew team, now being eliminated in the first round of the MLS Playoffs. New York Red Bulls goalkeeper, Ryan Meara had a tough night when being in net last night, as he turned in an 8 save night, while allowing 3 goals on 17 faced shots, along with giving up two unanswered 2nd half goals, during loss. Despite a reeling defeat...New York was able to get on the board first, following an amazing left foot kick to give his team a 1-0 lead, during the 23rd minute of the 1st half. After that goal it would pretty much go downhill from then on. The Red Bulls next goal wouldn't come until the 90th minute of half number two, after Brian White tallied a left foot kick, in order to bring his team within one, 2-3. But it would be to late, thus getting sent home on a tough playoff exit.
Orlando City scores 6 penalty kicks, thus leading them to a 6-5 Victory over a tough New York City FC team, during last night's MLS first round postseason matchup. Goalkeeper, Pedro Gallese had himself a pretty solid outing in net, following the fact that he was responsible for saving a total of 6 shots, allowing no more than 1 goal while fending off 26 shots faced, during win. Orlando City made a statement early in the matchup, as Nani was able to record a right foot kick in the 5th minute of the 1st half, going up 1-0. Orlando City in the 89th minute of the 2nd half almost took a 2-1 lead, after Tesho Akindele notched a right foot kick, but his shot attempt would be fended off by New York's, Sean Johnson, thus keeping the game tied at 1-1. That was until the Penalty Shootout started, where both teams went back and fourth. Rodrigo Schlegel kept his teams hope's alive in the MLS postseason, following his penalty kick save late in the matchup. Which would get followed up with a Benji Michel right foot kick, winning 6-5, and will await the winners of the Philadelphia vs New England game.
New York FC suffers a heartbreaking MLS Postseason elimination, following their upsetting 5-6 loss at the hands of a really good Orlando City opponent. The game was very close during the regulation period, where anything and everything could've happened. It would take New York City FC just 8 minutes in the 1st half to even the score up, following a Maxime Chanot headbutt goal, just three minutes after Orlando had tallied up a goal, 1-1. New York would be saved with that Pedro Gallese yellow card to keep their playoff hopes still in tact. New York was going toe to toe with Orlando in the Penalty Shootout round, starting with Valentin Castellanos and Tony Rocha each banging in a Shootout goal to keep the game going, but it wasn't enough, as New York City would be dealt by Benji's game winning goal, along with not being able to get the ball past Rodrigo in the later stages of this game.
In Nashville SC's first ever MLS season as a Soccer club they slide past Inter Miami, winning by shutout fashion, 3-0, during last night's MLS play in round. Nashville SC has officially recorded 6 consecutive goals through their past 2 games played. Nashville's goalkeeper Joe Willis was a big key contributor, after tallying in 3 saves and no goals on 9 shots faced, during win. It didn't take long for Nashville SC long to break the games 0-0 tie, following Randall Leal recording a right foot kick in the 14th minute of the 1st half, going up first and taking a 1-0 lead. Just about ten minutes later during the 24th minute of the 1st half Hany Mukhtar would be given a penalty kick, where he would successfully drill in a right foot kick, extending his teams lead by two, 2-0. Nashville SC capped off the 1st half with 2 unanswered goals to be scored. Nashville SC would seal Inter Miami's night, following a Dax McCarty right foot kick, in order to secure a 3-0 lead, during the 57th minute of the 2nd half. Nashville SC will take on a 2nd seeded Toronto FC team in the first round of the MLS Postseason, which will take taking place on Tuesday, November 24th 2020, at 3pm. For the very first time in 6 years the New England Revolution will secure an MLS postseason berth, following a successful 2-1 Victory over the Montreal Impact, during the MLS play in matchup. After a scary Achilles injury back in the month of August...Carlos Gil ended up turning in a left foot kick during the 38th the 38th minute of the 1st half, breaking the games 0-0 tie, taking a 1-0 lead early. As the game went back and fourth for a while, or at least up until Gustavo Bou recorded a 2nd half game ending left foot kick, during the 95th minute and helped his team go up by one, 2-1. The Revolution's last postseason Victory was back in 2014, and they will be taking on a tough Philadelphia team, on Tuesday Night in round 1 of the MLS postseason.
As for the Montreal Impact they have been officially eliminated from postseason contention, after suffering a reeling one goal defeat, as the final score showed 1-2, during tonight's first of two play in matchups. Montreal's goalkeeper, Clement Diop had a tough night in net, as he gave up 2 goals on 25 shots faced and saving only 7, during loss. Montreal Impact did manage to fall behind first back in the 1st half...then in the 61st minute of the 2nd half Romell Quioto would utilize a headbutt goal, in order to even the score up at 1-1. Unfortunately this would be the Impact's only goal scored for the rest of the MLS play in round, thus being sent home with better luck coming into next season.
The Portland Timbers hang on by a thread, following their 2-1 Victory, over surging Orlando City, to win their 2nd MLS Cup in 5 years. Portland Timbers won their 1st MLS Cup back in 2015, where they defeated Columbus Crew 2-1. With this win, it allows the Timbers to advance to the CONCACAF Champions League.Portland got off to a fast start, after Larrys Mabiala connected on a headbutt goal to give his team an early 1st half 1-0 lead. Game would be knotted up entering the 2nd half...as Dario Zuparic scored on a right foot kick, to extend his teams lead by one, 2-1. Most of the credit will have to go to their goaltender, Steve Clark, who racked up 1 save & no goals allowed, during Tuesday monumental Victory.
As for Orlando City...they suffer the ultimate loss after being turned away by the Portland Timbers & losing by score of 1-2. Orlando City fought hard all year long, unfortunately a pandemic had occurred, which meant putting the season on hold & so on & so on. Fast forward to now, Orlando worked hard to get to this point, only to come up a goal short. Orlando recorded just 1 shot on goal, to Portland's 6 shots. Goalie...Pedro Gallese ended his night with 2 goals allowed & a 4 save night, during Tuesday's defeat. In the 39th minute of the 1st half, Mauricio Pereyra tacked on a left foot kick to cut Portland's lead in half, 1-2. That would be the only goal scored for Orlando.

Orlando City played well on both sides of the ball, including their great goaltending by Pedro Gallese, who recorded 2 saves with 1 goal getting past him. Defensively they were able to shutdown Minnesota's offense, after giving up a goal. Orlando notched 4 shots on goal, to Minnesota's 3. The game would be scoreless through the first 30 minutes of the 1st half, then in the 36th minute...you would see Luis Carlos Nani record a right foot kick, 1-0. Six minutes later, Carlos Nani turned in his 2nd goal of the night, recording another right foot kick, going up 2-0. Benji Michel added the put away goal during the 90th minute of the 2nd half, allowing Orlando to walk out with a 3-1 win. Orlando will advance to the final round of this MLS is back tournament...to take on the Portland Timbers on Tuesday, August 11th 2020 at 5pm...so don't miss out on that action packed day.

It's back to the drawing boards for Minnesota, after losing a tough Playoff game. Minnesota recorded WAY more shots than Orlando City, out shot Orlando 17 to 7. Goalkeeper, Tyler Miller racked up just 1 save & allowed 3 goals to slide past him. Despite a stinging defeat, Mason Toye connected on a left foot kick to cut Orlando's lead in half, 1-2. That would be Minnesota's only goal of the game for them.
The Portland Timbers stay alive in the MLS is back tourney, following a 2-1 Victory, to eliminate the Philadelphia Union, in the Semifinal round. Both Portland & Philadelphia fought their hearts out, & it's definitely a mental game, especially when you are trailing in a win or go home situation. Portland ended their night with 7 shots on goal, to Philly's 8. In the 13th minute of the 1st half Jeremy Ebobisse recorded a headbutt goal, breaking the games tie 1-0. Portland's final goal would come during the 70th minute of the 2nd half...following Sebastian Blanco scoring off a headbutt goal as well, giving his team a 2-0 lead. Goalkeeper, Steve Clark played an outstanding game last night, totaling 7 saves with 1 goal allowed.
Philadelphia Union lose a stinger for sure, after facing a 1-2 defeat, against a tough Portland Timbers team. Philly now see's themselves going home after a reeling Semifinal elimination loss, to a very good team. Better luck next year. Philly would fall behind by two goals, during half one & half two, trying to claw their way back into it. It would take Philadelphia until the 85th minute of the 2nd half, following Andrew Wooten recording a left foot kick, cutting Portland's lead in half, 1-2. Goalkeeper, Andre Blake had a difficult night behind net, saving 5 shots & 2 goals allowed.

Portland Timber just a season ago, where knocked out of the first round by Real Salt Lake, losing that game 1-2. This year they have advanced further than where they were last year, & are looking to possibly end up in the Cup...but only time will tell. Portland would be behind 0-1 early in the 1st half, until Sebastian Blanco recorded a goal to even the score at 1-1, in the 43rd minute. The Timbers were far from done, considering Diego Valeri, who connected on goal himself, giving Portland their first lead, 2-1. Timbers during the 75th minute of the 2nd half, would have to sub out Eryk Williamson, for Andy Polo. Andy Pole just a minute after being subbed in, he recorded the game sealing goal, going up by score of 3-1 & the eventual Victory.
Rough day for New York City FC during last night's Quarterfinal 1-3 loss, at the hands of a surging Portland Timbers team. New York City FC just a season ago were a top seeded team, when entering the 2019 MLS Playoffs. But this year...they are currently 12th place in the Eastern Conference, with a 1-0-4 win/loss record(Covid-19 reasons is why record is low). Despite a stunning defeat, Jesus Medina would tack on the teams first goal, allowing New York to go up by one, 1-0. That would be their only goal scored all night, as they now see themselves heading back home. Prepare for next season.
Minnesota will advance to the Semifinal round after turning away & eliminating the San Jose Earthquakes, winning in dominating fashion 4-1. Minnesota is still unbeaten as we speak...in the MLS tournament & still have yet to be beat. Robin Lod would help Minnesota get on the board in the 20th minute of the 1st half, 1-0. Just 9 seconds later, in the 21st minute of the 1st half, Jacori Hayes connected on a goal as well, giving his team a 2-0 lead advantage. Minnesota ended the 1st half by keeping San Jose off the scoreboard. Luis Amarilla would connect on a goal, allowing Minnesota to leap ahead by two, 3-1. Marlon Harrison sealed San Jose's fate in the Quarterfinal round, after scoring a goal, earning a well deserved 4-1 Victory. Minnesota as I said before are still undefeated in tournament play, as they have won four straight games & tied two.
As for the San Jose Earthquakes they will now see themselves going home, following a reeling 1-4 blowout loss, against a tough Minnesota United team. San Jose lost the game yes...but their offense managed to control the ball 64% of the time, to Minnesota's 36% of offensive possession. San Jose through this tourney, are 3-1-1, until meeting their match maker. It was a rough night for goalkeeper, Daniel Vega, who allowed 4 goals to get past him. San Jose would be held off the scoresheet during the 1st half, up until Magnus Eriksson recorded his 1st goal, to bring the Earthquakes within a goal, 1-2.
Orlando advances to the Semifinal round after knocking out Los Angeles FC, winning by score of 5-4. This game saw regulation end in a 1-1 draw, sending this matchup to a shootout, & you couldn't blink, goal after goal being traded by both teams, until only one could walk away the victor. With Orlando down 0-1 going late into the 2nd half...Benji Michael would come in clutch, following his right foot kick, to even the score at 1-1. After trading back to goals with Los Angeles FC during the shootout...Antonio Carlos would come in clutch for Orlando, after sealing the game with a goal scored, to send his team to the Semifinal round.
Los Angeles FC lose a very disappointing matchup in the shootout, just days after avenging their playoff defeat a year ago. Losing by score of 4-5 to Orlando. Despite a reeling defeat, Bradley Wright recorded the game & teams first goal, delivering a goal in the 60th minute of the 1st half 1-0. Los Angeles FC couldn't hold on to the lead, considering goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer giving up a late goal to send the game to a shootout...where Orlando would knock them out scoring the final goal of the game, 4-5.
