In round two of the draft, the Philadelphia Eagles drafted Jalen Hurts Quarterback out of Oklahoma University. To most people the Eagles draft pick was a real head scratcher. Doug Pederson must have a plan for fitting Hurts into the Philly system. Jalen Hurts finished his career with 682 completed passes for 9,477 yards, 80 touchdown passes to just 20 interceptions.
With the 17th overall draft pick, the Dallas Cowboys went ahead & drafted Wide Receiver out of Oklahoma University, CeeDee Lamb. In my estimation I think Dallas made a great move by drafting one of the top wide out's in the draft this year. Cowboys are adding a lot of speed to their Wide Receiver position. CeeDee Lamb is the type of guy that can move around you & can beat you going deep. CeeDee Lamb ended his career in college with 173 receptions for 3,292 yards & 32 touchdown grabs.
With the first pick in the 2020 NFL draft the Cincinnati Bengals went along & drafted Quarterback Joe Burrow out the University of LSU. Joe Burrow will look to work some of his magic with the Bengals this upcoming season. As Burrow looks to help a struggling franchise & hopefully bring in some wins & playoff wins. Bengals this past season finished with a 2-14 win/loss record, worst record in the NFL. Joe was able to lead LSU to great lengths including their epic Victory over the Clemson Tigers(15-1) in last year's National Championship game. Burrow ended his college career having completed 621 passes for 8,565 yards & 76 total touchdown strikes. He also completed 60 touchdowns in one season in 2019-2020.
The Patriots stack up some more big bodies on the defensive side of things by drafting Michigan Linebacker, Josh Uche. Patriots were involved in a trading deal with the Ravens in order to getting Josh Uche in the 2nd round. Josh Uche ended his Michigan career with 23 self tackles, 12 assisted tackles & earned an 8.5 in the sacks column. I like both picks on the Patriots defense, especially with guys like Kyle Van Noy & Duron Harmon now gone. Main point of focus for New England is a Quarterback.
The New England Patriots with pick number 37 in the NFL draft, they selected Safety out of Lenoir Rhyne, Kyle Dugger. Kyle Dugger was a good pick up by the Patriots defense even though that's not their main concern. Dugger finished 36th in self tackles & averaged a 4.3 in tackles per game finishing 58th in the country. Kyle Dugger capped his college career off with 30 tackles, 13 assisted tackles & had a 43.0 in tackling.
The Miami Dolphins made their move this past weekend at the NFL draft, starting by selecting Quarterback out of Alabama, Tua Tagovailoa in the 5th round. Tue Tagovailoa was the second Quarterback drafted. Tua finished his college career with 180 completed passes for 2,840 yards & 33 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions.
